The concept is simple enough: Finish 52 projects in as many weeks.
There are several reasons I'm starting this:
And so...Here are the rules:
I may post thoughts/etc. that come up for me along the way in the journal You'll find an ever expanding list of the stuff I'm making on the projects page. (Those of you so inclined can subscribe to an RSS feed here.)
Here's where I give thanks to all those who've inspired me to take on this challenge...
Bill Wadman is a gifted photographer / musician / mad scientist from Brooklyn, NYC. (I'm a big fan of his 365 Portraits, and it was his 52 Project that finally convinced me get off my ass and dive into the deep end of the pool.)
Jonathan Coulton has already completed 52 "Things a Week" and seems to be proving that you don't need to sell your soul to a major label in order to be successful in the music business. (Check out "Code Monkey" and "Re: Your Brains" on his songs page. They're two of my favorites.)
Ze Frank has spent every weekday for the last 12 months writing, filming, and starring in The Show. Any description that I'd try to give it would fall woefully short. Check out the "Brain Crack" episode if you're itching get out there and make something.
52 Things is my blank canvas for the next 52 weeks. Here you'll find the good, the bad, and the ugly... I make no promises. Feel free to add your inspiring Tony Robbins'esqe words of encouragement to the comments section, or email them to me at thomas {@} 52things.org. Dumb-ass comments will be deleted and/or reported to my mom.
Enjoy!
